In the afternoon, monastical workshops of traditional recipes awaited us in the village square. Guests and visitors enjoyed tasting “Vasilopita” and “Giapratsia with codfish” while having the opportunity to watch their live preparation. An opportunity for unique monastical chips! “Tweaked” freshly baked bread, dipped in homemade local ethereal oils, as part of a monastic diet like no other.
Live cooking over the coals and the fire, in the ultimate monastical setting, with plenty of surprises. Eleni Maloupa, an Agriculturalist and PhD in Plant Biology & Physiology, Elpida Koumarela, our beloved island’s Chef, and chef Stratis Aksidelis cooked, offering delicious samples of monastical recipes with unique local ingredients!
